Why wellness pursuit?

Adulting - who knew it could be so hard?

For some reason, I thought that by the time I grew up and became an adult, I'd finally have my life together. Now I'm over a decade into adulthood and feel like I'm starting over again for the fifth... no, must be my sixth time.

Does it still count as fake-it-till-you-make-it if you're starting fresh again?

And what does it mean to make it?

Who decides what that looks like?

The truth of the matter, as I've grown to discover, is that you never truly start off fresh; there's always a foundation from what remains before. All those many starts and re-starts were different points in time where I realized that the path I was on either no longer served who I was becoming, or was interrupted by life. You know, the beautiful existence that we are all thrust into; the adventure of rising each day to discover who we are and how we fit in this world.

I, for one, don't know if I'll ever make it. I'm not even sure I'd recognize what it looks like if I did. But I am on a quest of becoming. A quest where I want to be happy, healthy and whole in mind, body, spirit and soul. I want to intentionally take care of what I have - my physical and mental well-being - while also investing in the very special connections I get to be part of - relational, emotional and spiritual well-being.

This is the pursuit of wellness. This is what I want to dedicate the rest of my life towards; to grow froward from all the many starts and restarts that I'm learning life is. To discover (and rediscover) who I am and how I fit in this world.

And you are part of that! I want to grow with you. To ask questions, try new things, and see how we can both become the most incredible versions of ourselves possible.

Will you join me?

I hope you do. I would love to hear from you, to learn what's worked for you and what you're working on. I want to champion you as you get up and face each day. I want to celebrate your triumphs, encourage you in the midst of challenges, and share mine with you too.

Here's to the pursuit of a life well lived!

May we learn to be happy, healthy and whole!
